The archaeological excavations that led to the discovery of the remains were led by Professor Dariusz Poliński of the Nicolaus Copernicus University. The skull was capped with silk, and one of its front teeth protruded forward, according to the Daily Mail.
“The sickle did not lie flat, but was placed on the neck in such a way that if the deceased tried to stand up … her head would be cut off or injured,” Polinski explained to the publication.
