These Brits literally blew up the charts and quickly became world stars.
Annie Lennox and David Stewart found each other in the 1970s. Annie was a student, and David played in different bands. They immediately liked each other and began to play in The Tourists, which was organized by David’s friend.
A passionate romance broke out between Annie and David.
The group recorded several albums, there was even some success. But very small and eventually the project fell apart.
With the collapse of the team, the romantic relationship between Lennox and Stewart also ended. But there was friendship and respect for each other. They decided not to give up music – that’s how the duet Eurythmics was born.
Their last album Peace was released in 1999 and the musicians went solo. But they are still friends and sometimes record new joint songs. Annie and David are a very rare example of how people survived romance, fame, money, the breakup of a duo, but at the same time retained very warm and sincere feelings for each other.
As David says:
“Our path has been long and winding. A lot has happened in these decades – both personally and musically, and in the world. So many things happened that you could never expect. But our commitment and passion for music has not faded.”
And adds:
“I am very pleased to look and see all the work that we have created, and be proud of it. People love you and recognize your creativity. At such moments, you feel honor, you feel that you have not lived your life in vain.
