It is in the social advertising of animals from the shelter, according to the children’s ombudsman of Tatarstan Irina Volynets, that the problem of the demographic crisis lies.
“Have you paid attention to what pets are called now? Many refer to them as “my boy”, “my girl”, “son”, “daughter” and so on. Is this not a substitution of concepts? How can a dog be called “son” or “daughter”? Or a cat?” Volynets said.
It would seem, where is the logic between the desire to have a pet and a drop in the birth rate. But the ombudsman saw the substitution of concepts and self-deception among the Russians.
At the same time, Irina Volynets does not believe that pets can serve as a good test for young couples before planning a replenishment in the family.
According to sad statistics for 2021, about four thousand children remain in maternity hospitals. The reasons why mothers refuse them may be different, but the fact itself remains a fact.
And these are only problems at the first stage, but how many cases are there when guardianship authorities deprive parents of parental rights because of the terrible treatment of children? And how many deaths that we see in the media?
Instead of working to revive the family as a cell of society, Irina Volynets decided to choose animals as her opponent, which, in her opinion, deserve the opportunity to get a new home only if there are already children there.
That is why she is against outdoor and other public social advertising of animal shelters.
