The World Boxing Association (WBA) today announced good news for professional boxers from Russia and Belarus – they are again restored in the organization’s ratings. True, they are not allowed to speak out in support of the SVO, let alone participate in it.
“Athletes from this country are not soldiers or part of the government, so they have nothing to do with any ongoing conflict. However, it has been decided that any boxer who speaks out in support of or participates in the special military operation will be removed immediately.”– said on the WBA website.
It is noteworthy that the decision to restore Russian and Belarusian athletes in the ratings followed a week after the victory of the Russian fighter over the “invincible” Mexican. Light heavyweight boxer Dmitry Bivol (20 fights and 20 wins) confidently defeated Gilberto Ramirez (44 wins in 44 fights, 30 by knockout) and defended his championship belt.
